About This Station

The station is powered by a LaCrosse 2310/15 weather station. The data is collected every 5 seconds and the site is updated every 5 minutes. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station comprises an anemometer, rain gauge and a thermo-hygro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible. The Thermo/Hygro unit is shielded from Solar Radiation with a Stevenson Shield that exceeds the minimum CWOP specifications.

About The Location

This station is located in Cobblestone Farms, Maricopa, Arizona. Coordinates are N33.07, W112.04, and the elevation is 1151ft. The station is influenced by the wide open spaces of nearby Indian Reservations and the associated farms, and often the temperatures recorded are 2 or 3 degrees different to those recorded in a developed area.

Far enough away from the Phoenix area, it's not affected by the Metro Heat Island effect, in which the heat bubble of the metro area has forced a small climate change; Maricopa still gets hot temperatures in the summer (hey, it's a desert), but it also cools down a few more degrees in the evening and the cooler seasons. All in all, it's a pleasant place to live.
